The Swordfish Chrome Extension makes it easy to run Boolean (X-Ray) searches and uncover contact information in bulk—no need to manually copy and paste URLs or worry about search syntax.

Whether you're sourcing candidates, leads, or partners, this feature lets you quickly scan multiple LinkedIn or Twitter profiles at once using Google or Bing search results.

What You’ll Need

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • An active Swordfish account

  • The Swordfish Chrome Extension installed and active in your browser

Step 1: Open the Boolean Search Tool

  1. Click on the Swordfish Extension icon in your Chrome toolbar.

  2. Select the three-dot menu inside the extension panel.

  3. Choose Boolean Search to open the input form.

This tool helps you generate a properly formatted search string—no need to worry about Boolean operators or formatting.

Step 2: Fill in Your Search Criteria

You'll see fields for customizing your Boolean search:

  • Social Profile – Default is LinkedIn, but Twitter is also available.

  • Country – United States is the default, but you can select others.

  • Job Title – Enter the job roles you’re looking for.

  • Location or Keywords to Include – Helps narrow your search further.

  • Keywords to Exclude – Optional field to remove unwanted results.

  • Education – Filter by degree.

  • Current Employer – If you're looking for people at a specific company.

Once filled out, click Create Boolean Search and a new Google search page will open with your results.

Step 3: Select Profiles to Enrich

Once the search results appear:

  1. The extension will automatically recognize valid social profile URLs on the page.

  2. In the Swordfish extension panel, you’ll see a list of these profiles.

  3. Select the ones you’d like to enrich.

  4. Choose your “must-have” contact types (e.g., mobile or email).

  5. Assign the results to an existing list or create a new one.

The extension will begin retrieving contact data for your selected profiles.

Tips

  • Make sure Swordfish has site access permissions for Google and Bing.

  • You can use this feature with any Google or Bing results page that includes social profile links.

  • Add filters in the Boolean builder to improve result quality and relevance.
