The Swordfish Chrome Extension is designed to work quietly in the background while giving you quick access to contact data when you need it. To tailor the extension’s behavior to your preferences, you can adjust a couple of key settings.

Key Extension Settings

There are two main controls you can use to customize how the Swordfish extension behaves:

1. Show side tab on websites

When enabled, you’ll see the Swordfish tab on the right side of supported websites like LinkedIn, Google, and Bing. This makes it easy to access the extension when browsing profiles or search results.

2. Auto-open popup

When this is checked, the extension automatically opens a preview panel and performs a background search to display available contact data as you view a profile.

You can enable or disable either of these options in the Options menu.

How to Access the Extension Settings

Depending on how your browser is set up, there are two ways to access the Swordfish extension settings in Chrome:

If the Swordfish icon is visible in your Chrome toolbar:

  1. Right-click on the Swordfish icon (next to the address bar).

  2. Click Options from the dropdown menu.

  3. The Options page will open in a new tab where you can adjust the settings.

If you don’t see the icon:

  1. Click the puzzle piece (Extensions icon) in your Chrome toolbar.

  2. Find Swordfish, and click the three vertical dots next to it.

  3. Select Options from the dropdown menu.

Recommended Chrome Configuration

For best performance, we recommend allowing Swordfish to read data from all supported sites. Granting full access ensures the extension can detect social profile URLs across different pages, including Google search results, LinkedIn, and more.

To adjust this permission:

  1. Go to chrome://extensions/

  2. Find Swordfish and click Details.

  3. Under "Site access," select On all sites for the smoothest experience.
