Welcome to Swordfish!

This guide will help you set up and use Swordfish efficiently. You can use Swordfish in two ways:

  1. The Chrome Extension – Allows you to find and unlock contact details while browsing platforms such as LinkedIn, GitHub, and others.
  2. The Swordfish Web App (Prospector) – A powerful web-based tool with advanced search filters, bulk enrichment, and verification features.

1. Using the Swordfish Chrome Extension

The Chrome extension enables real-time contact discovery when visiting supported platforms. Instead of manually searching for emails and phone numbers, the extension finds them for you when available.

Where the Chrome Extension Works

The extension supports the following platforms:

  • LinkedIn (Regular, Recruiter, Sales Navigator, Recruiter Lite)
  • Facebook
  • Twitter (X)
  • GitHub
  • Stack Overflow
  • MeetUp
  • Dribbble
  • Google Search Results (X-Ray Searches)
  • Bing Search Results (X-Ray Searches)

How to Install and Use the Chrome Extension

  1. Install the extension – Go to the Chrome Web Store, search for "Swordfish," and click "Add to Chrome."
  2. Log in – Use the credentials from your Swordfish sign-up.
  3. Visit a profile on a supported platform – The extension detects available data.
  4. Click the Swordfish icon – This will reveal available contact details.
  5. Use credits wisely – Data is unlocked only when you manually choose to reveal it.

2. Using the Swordfish Web App (Prospector)

The Swordfish Web App provides a more structured and advanced search experience with additional tools for bulk searches and data verification.

Key Features in the Web App

  • Prospect Search – Allows you to search for leads using advanced filters such as name, company, job title, and location.
  • File Enrichment – Upload a CSV file containing names, companies, or emails, and Swordfish will enrich the file with available contact details.
  • Reverse Lookup – Enter an email address or phone number, and Swordfish will find the associated person.
  • Email Verification – Checks whether an email address is valid and active before you use it.
  • Phone Verification – Confirms whether a phone number is valid and in service.

Using Advanced Search Filters

Swordfish allows you to refine searches using various filters:

  • Role-Based Filters – Search by job title, function, seniority level, and years at the company.
  • Company-Based Filters – Search by company name, location, employee count, and industry.
  • Personal Filters – Use personal data points where available.

3. Managing Credits and Account Features

Understanding Credits

  • Each time you unlock a contact’s details, it uses a credit.
  • Your available credits are displayed in the top-right corner of the web app.
  • Credits apply across both the Chrome extension and the web app.

Team Collaboration

  • Invite teammates to share credits and collaborate on prospecting.
  • The admin user can manage credit allocation across team members.

CRM and API Integrations

  • Swordfish supports integrations with CRM platforms for seamless data transfer.
  • API access is available for users who want to automate data retrieval.

4. Best Practices for Maximizing Swordfish

  1. Use the Chrome extension for real-time prospecting – Ideal when working directly on LinkedIn, GitHub, or similar platforms.
  2. Use the Web App for bulk searches – Best for large-scale prospecting and verifying contact information.
  3. Verify emails and phone numbers before outreach – Reduces bounce rates and ensures higher engagement.
  4. Monitor credit usage – Since credits are only used when unlocking data, reviewing usage helps optimize prospecting efforts.
